April is Volunteer Month
The month of April is National Volunteer Month and is a great opportunity to highlight everything our volunteers add to our community. At Friends Association we would not be able to do our work without the dedication and support of our incredible volunteers. At the forefront of what we do is making sure that we continue to respect and instill dignity in our neighbors we are working alongside. Our volunteers understand the importance of this and care deeply about our belief that every family deserves a safe and stable place to call home.
Our volunteer opportunities are unique. It is important for us to make sure that our volunteer opportunities are intentional and is a reflection of the needs of the community we serve. Our volunteers meet these needs every day and are always going above and beyond for our community.
We run a Meal Train to provide meals for neighbors the first few nights they move into the Family Center. Our Turn Over Team comes in after a family has moved out to clean and set up the unit for the next family that is set to move in. We rely heavily on volunteers during the Holiday Season to put together Holiday Gift Baskets and Coat Bundles for over 150 children across our programs. Our volunteers help sort through donations and maintain inventory of the items we collect for neighbors and some even help move, install, and remove AC Units as the seasons are changing.
We have amazing volunteers who are always looking for ways they can serve more. They are eager for the next opportunity to come in and show their support to our neighbors and to our staff. We thank you all for the time and energy you have dedicated to Friends Association each week and recognize the impact you have on our organization and on the neighbors that we work with. We look forward to continuing to welcome volunteers to Friends Association to learn more about the work we are doing and to support their community in an impactful way.
